This Oscar short-listed feature documentary follows a family’s treacherous journey defecting from North Korea. Director Madeleine Gavin tasked our team with bringing to life some of the journey as well as the history of this unique nation.

Japanese artist Hirotoshi Iwasaki created beautiful hand-drawn, charcoal sequences for the film which we used as inspiration to create graphics sequences with a distinct mood and human touch.

The film premiered at Sundance and went on to streaming on Amazon Prime.
